Looking to buy a ‘phablet’? You may want to wait for a few more days as Huawei about to launch its Jelly Bean based Ascend Mate in the country soon. It would be one of the biggest phablets available in India as it features a 15.5-cm (6.1-inch) HD display.
The company has been tight-lipped about the device in the past few months but as the launch date is reaching, rounds of rumours and speculations have also started. A report from The Mobile Indian quoted some familiar sources as saying, “Huawei Ascend Mate will be launched in first week of June in India for a price tag of around Rs 29,000.”
Huawei’s Ascend Mate comes packed with a 1.5 GHz quad core processor, 2GB internal memory and 8GB of external memory, expandable up to 32 GB. The phablet features Huawei’s Emotion user interface, which renders a new look to the device’s home screen.
One of the most attractive features of the smartphone is its battery. The phablet comes packed with a 4050mAh battery. The company claims that it is capable of providing two days of up to batrery backup on a single recharge. That’s not all! Huawei’s Ascend mate can serve as a power bank for charging other phones as well. You just need to connect the two devices using a cable.
The device has an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. It also features a micro SIM slot. Yet another attractive feature of the device is that users will be able to access it while wearing gloves as well.
