Facebook’s child-friendly texting app Messenger Kids launches on Android
The American social networking company Facebook has launched a new child-friendly Messenger Kids app on the Google Play Store for US clients. This chat app first rolling out on iOS in December. Then facebook brings it to android platform. Messenger Kids expanded to Amazon’s app store in January to add compatibility with Fire tablets. It is similar to messenger Now the app includes a variety of new features like themed masks, stickers and frames. So the kids can easily send messages to their loved ones. Group video chat is available on Messenger Kids. This application is mainly focused on the children whose ages range between 6 to 12.
For creating an account on Messenger Kids, there are no needs to set up a Facebook account for kids. Instead, parents can authorize their child ‘s Messenger Kids account by using their own Facebook account. So the parents can control the contact. The parents will get the notification if the child found and report any inappropriate content. The highlight of this messaging application is controlling the contact list and messages cannot be hidden which means that parents can easily review the conversation which the child had made. Only parents have the ability to add friends or delete messages.
Nowadays, parents are concerned about too much use of mobile may cause addiction to their children. Some of the child experts have already called on Facebook to shut down the new app. But Facebook says that it provides secure chat ambiance for children and also said that it will block kids from sharing nakedness, sexual or violent content, and have a devoted control group to react to flagged content.
As per Apptopia, Messenger Kids has been downloaded around 45,000 times since its dispatch on iOS and Amazon Fire tablets, and now has an expected 20,000 day to day clients.
