Google Playstore Revenue from India Arises

Now Indians are interested in spending much money on google play store app. The internet giants are also encouraging the habit of indians to download the apps from the google plays tore. This resulted in a hike in the revenue of the google play store.

Google introduced a Made for India app program that helps the developers to build the apps having low memory, less data, runs in inconsistent network and having content in local languages. These apps will be showcased in a special section on the store.

According to Purnima Kochikar ,director of google playstore for business development, “consumer spending on apps has grown 3x in India over the past year. She also states that Google has introduced different modes of payments like carrier building, gift cards and wallets for the Indian market.

App Annie, App analytical firm states that games are the largest contributor to consumer spend globally.

As far as the global reports are concerned, India is the world’s largest downloader of apps on google plays tore in 2016 . It is said that downloading increased by 150 % over the last 12 months in India. Among the downloads, the games and entertainment category with video streaming apps like Hotstar and JioPlay are the most prominent. WhatsApp, MyJio, Facebook and its Messenger app are the top mobile apps in terms of downloads on the Google PlayStore.

However, India’s play store revenue is meager in comparing with other countries. The top revenue market for google play store are Japan, US and South Korea.
