Idea VoLTE services from March 1; to cover staff initially
Idea Cellular, the Telecom operator announced on Wednesday that it would launch voice over LTE ( VoLTE ) services for idea workforce in India, so their launch has to call “soft launch”.The services will be available on Thursday, March 1. The commercial services will be introduced “progressively” on a circle-by-circle basis, the company said in a statement.Prior to January, there were reports that Idea Cellular would be introducing its 4G Idea VoLTE services in March in India. Now, the company has announced the rollout of the same.
The telecom giant Idea Cellular declared that VoLTE services on its high-speed 4G network will empower clients and will provide un-interrupted internet experience and also offer high definition call quality as compared to a standard voice call.
The Kumar Mangalam Birla owned Idea Cellular, the Telecom operator is planning to proceed to launch the services in over 30 cities across four circles, and has a few key cities in this first phase of rollout – Ahmedabad, Calicut, Hyderabad, Kochi, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Rajkot, Surat, and Thiruvananthapuram, among others – which is intended to be finished in the first half of March. The Idea Cellular plans to cover all 20 4G circles with VoLTE services by April end.
It will enable clients to automatically be directed to the 3G or 2G network when they move out of 4G coverage, thus guaranteeing constant call availability.
