Soon after Indian tablet manufacturer, Micromax launched the 25.7-cm (10.1-inch) Funbook Pro, the company has launched another tablet in the seven-incher segment. The company has launched another offing in the Funbook series called Funbook Alpha. The 17.8-cm (7-inch) tablet runs Google’s Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich.
The tablet device looks pretty similar to the original Funbook tablet. The only difference is that the former device lacked navigation buttons. The new Funbook comes packed with the Allwinner A13 chipset and an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU at 1 GHz with 512 MB of DDR3 RAM. It sports a multi-touch screen.

According to the official website, the Funbook Alpha aims to “Edutain yourself with its preloaded study material and endless entertainment options! Study hard and play harder with the Funbook Alpha that helps you achieve the best in you!”
Speaking about the product, Ajay Sharma, country head, SUPERFONE SBU said, “We have plans to launch more tablets in the Funbook range for the upcoming festive season. Indian tablet market is growing with every passing day. The two tablets launched from Micrometre have been received well amongst the users. This prompted us to bring more tablets for specific market segments. We will soon have a couple of more devices in the seven inch segment.”
